On Saturday, October 3, 2026, we officially inaugurated the City Boy Movement Ogun State Executive in Abeokuta. On the same day, we held an empowerment programme and commissioned our new state secretariat.

This was a big day for us. It marks another step in building a strong organisational structure and growing our presence at the grassroots across Ogun State.

The programme was held under the leadership of our State Patron, Alhaji Kamorudeen Olawale Yusuf, who is also the President’s Personal Assistant on Special Duties, and our State Director, Dr Abdulateef Sulaimon.

150,000 members and counting

At the event, our State Director shared a milestone we are proud of. Within a month of starting our membership drive, more than 150,000 active members joined the City Boy Movement in Ogun State. We see this as a foundation, not a finish line. Our goal is to build a verifiable grassroots network of over 500,000 members across the state before January 2027.

Dr Sulaimon also reminded everyone what our work is about: taking the President’s mandate to the grassroots, engaging our people where they live, explaining the administration’s programmes and policies, and encouraging young people to take part responsibly in the democratic process.

Our guests

We were honoured to host the APC governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Adeola Olamilekan (Yayi); the Minister of State for Health, Dr Ishaq Salako; and the Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation, Sunday Dare. His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun, was represented by the Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyedele.

Senator Olamilekan set a clear target for us. Ogun has more than three million registered voters, and he said the state should deliver at least two million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. He pointed to what this administration has brought to Ogun, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Sokoto-Badagry Expressway, the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences in Abeokuta, and the upgrade of Tai Solarin University of Education to a federal university.

A charge to our new executives

Our National Director-General, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, gave the new executives their charge: take the movement into all 20 local government areas, reach young people, and build a disciplined structure ready for 2027. He described their appointments as a call to service, and he commended Alhaji Kamorudeen Olawale Yusuf for his leadership and commitment to the movement in Ogun State.

A home for the movement

Our new secretariat gives the City Boy Movement a permanent home in Ogun State. From here, we will coordinate our activities from the state level down to every local government, ward and polling unit.

With our executive in place and our secretariat open, we are better organised than ever. To everyone who has joined us, thank you. To everyone who hasn’t yet, there’s a place for you in your ward and your polling unit. Let’s work together.
